Montgomery County Woman Killed in Wreck with Big Rig

Virginia State Police have reported that a Montgomery County woman was killed early this morning when she collided head-on with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 81.

Police indicated that Pamela Renee Price, 41, of Elliston, crossed over the median and crashed into the tractor-trailer around 4 a.m.  She was taken to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center where she died soon after arriving at the hospital.

The truck driver, who works for Class One Transport Inc in McVeytown, Pa, was not taken to the hospital, according to police.

Price was traveling south on I-81 near mile marker 112 when the accident occurred. The wreck is still under investigation and police did not immediately know if Price was wearing her seat belt.
